In April, I spent three nights in Marrakesh. This vibrant city was a photographer’s dream with its bustling souks, intricate architecture, and stunning gardens. The energy and color of Marrakesh were unforgettable.

Autumn Escapes

Hungary and Slovakia

In October, I took a six-night journey through Hungary and Slovakia. The autumn foliage added an incredible palette to my photos, and exploring both urban and rural landscapes made for a truly enriching experience.

Family Getaways

Östergötland, Sweden

During the Ascension holiday in May, we spent three nights in Östergötland as a family. We explored:

• Vadstena: A charming historic town.
• Tåkern: A famous bird-watching spot.
• Omberg: A picturesque nature reserve.

Trosa Havsbad

In the summer, we spent three nights at Trosa Havsbad. The highlight of this trip was visiting the Stendörren Nature Reserve, where the dramatic coastal scenery provided excellent photo opportunities.

Outdoor Adventures

Färnebofjärden National Park

In August, I paddled with my kids and a group of friends in Färnebofjärden National Park. We camped for one night on Sandön, enjoying the serenity of the Swedish wilderness.

Stockholm Archipelago

In September, I went sea kayaking with friends in the Stockholm Archipelago. We camped overnight, surrounded by the calm and beauty of the islands.

Ängsö, Västerås

A short October trip took me to Ängsö, where I spent one night sleeping in my car. It was a small adventure but rewarding for the peaceful landscapes and solitude.

Weekend Highlights

Örebro and Karlskoga

In November, the family stayed one night in a hotel in Örebro. We visited two fantastic attractions:

• Lost City: A waterpark adventure.
• Boda Borg: A thrilling quest experience in Karlskoga.

Exploring Uppsala and Surroundings

When I’m not traveling far, I love exploring my hometown, Uppsala, and its surroundings. Some of my favorite photography spots this year included:

• Gamla Uppsala Högar: The ancient burial mounds, steeped in history and offering stunning landscapes.
• Allt Ljus på Uppsala: This annual light festival provided incredible opportunities for creative night photography.
• Botaniska Trädgården: A beautiful place to capture seasonal blooms and tranquil gardens.
• Along the Fyris River: Scenic views and reflections made for perfect photo walks.
• Other Local Gems: From quaint streets to hidden parks, I found inspiration all around Uppsala.

Regular Escapes

• The Cabin: We visited our cabin seven times this year, enjoying time with friends, swimming, sauna, games and nature walks.
• Day Trips and Football: I also went on numerous day trips and attended two football tournaments with the kids.

A Year of Discovery

While my travels might not be extensive, they’re filled with discovery, adventure, and, of course, plenty of photography. Each trip—whether big or small—adds another chapter to my journey, capturing the beauty and essence of every place I visit.
